What should I wear?
You may wish to bring more than one outfit. The studio provides a private space for changing. Colors to avoid are white, black, red (which renders as black), and light blue (which renders as white) due to the unique photographic process. Clothing with textures or patterns tend to translate very well – knits, brocades, plaid, lace, mesh, satin, etc.
Feel free to bring accessories. If you are interested in bringing a prop, please communicate your idea ahead of time. Avoid clothes with any lettering or logos, since these will be rendered in mirror image and therefore will be backwards. In colder months, please dress warmly; the studio is an unheated converted garage.
Is the tintype process toxic?
The tintype process is not toxic to you.
Can I bring my pet?
We do not currently allow animals in the studio, except for service animals, as defined by the ADA.
